The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a kitchen and a guest living room in the hallway, with other rooms surrounding them. The bathroom is public but has privacy, which is okay. The room is quiet, and, most importantly, it is close to Brown and RISD if you are visiting either, since the hotel is on College Hill. The booking assistant, Stefano, responded very quickly each time I needed anything. Overall, it's quite nice and clean.
Convenient location in that it was super close to Brown. It’s right downtown, but the entrance is difficult to find. It’s an old dorm so it’s worn out.
No amenities.
This is a shared communal space and so noisy inside and outside as expected. Communication regarding checking in was great. I gave it a lower rating because we reserved a room with two twin beds for two well built boys that would typically sleep well in two full beds, and instead we got one queen bed. Had I known I would have paid extra and booked a hotel.
I would like to Express my gratitude to Staffs Linda, Sebastian, and the owner himself Sezar. I have been here for about 2 months, and I have been treated with a degree of gratitude, and respect that it's starting to feel like a family.
Anyone who wants this experience should book with this business, if not for the staff, the people, or the business than do so for it's location, surroundings, and friendly warm reception.

No Frills- Bring Your Own Toilet Paper
A no frills hostel which has converted what looks like second floor offices with track lighting into hostel rooms. There is nobody from the hostel on prem, only a ghost staff you can email or call. You are required to upload a copy of your drivers license before check in. There is a shared kitchen and a shared bathroom, the mens room didn’t have toilet paper for the whole time I was there (gross). I emailed the ghost staff to let them know about this but was ignored. There are also what seem to be migrant families living in some of the rooms with their belongings left in the hallway. Speaking of the hallway, there is a very strong air freshener like smell throughout the hallway and the rooms. Be aware if you are sensitive to things like this. Location is great, close to the Brown and RISD campuses. I’m glad I only had to stay in Providence for one night.
Pros: Closest lodging to Brown, lots of restaurants, very affordable, clean, huge common bathroom
Cons: rooms are run down, heating system is out of control (very hot and very cold), thin walls, no real lounge, a broken window in a room (they switched me to a different room)
If they invested $50k in new windows, HVAC and lighting, it would be a great place.
The hostel was not very clean. There was no soap in the bathroom or kitchen and the hand dryer did not work. One of the showers did not have a curtain.
The room was okay, but very hot and the street outside was noisy at all hours of the night. The bed was comfortable and the tv with access to Netflix was a nice amenity, but the room was a little run down.
There was a child living in the hostel who would run up and down the hallways and make noise. At one point he would not stop hitting my door.
Would not recommend this place unless you need a cheap place to stay for a night and plan to be out of your room as much as possible.
I have stayed at hostels and budget locations around the world and found this location in need of some attention. For those looking for a hotel experience, this is not the location for you. This is perfect for those on a budget. It is located in the heart of Brown University with plenty of food options. The street life can be a bit loud with cars revving their engines from 6 PM - 1 AM. The smell of the vape shop/hookah lounge below adds an extra flavor. I had no issues with these things - it was more the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms and room. When I arrived the bathrooms were a mess and my room looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. I did call the manager about the state of the bathrooms and they had their cleaning team clean them the next morning. So that was a good sign. It would be great in the future if their cleaning team put a bit more effort into prepping the rooms. FYI - bring your own soap and shampoo since none is provided.
“So smoke meth” started my stay. Positives: the bedding and mattress seemed clean with minimal odor. There was a working TV. The location is close to the University and Starbucks is across the street. When I arrived the shared bathroom stall had the graffiti above, no hand soap and no rollers to hold toilet paper. The room consisted of old dorm beds, desk, chair and carpeting. It had two couches, both filthy. One had either blood or chocolate stain on it. The smoke alarm had no battery, only 1 of 3 windows opened, some device under the night stand seemed disabled. The curtains were thin, didn’t match and didn’t cover the windows so 5:40am the sun, and heat, streamed in. The pictures of bedrooms on website didn’t look anything like my room was set. The room smelled like gym socks and had no climate control. The locked thermostat in the main hall was set to 80 degrees even as the rooms were uncomfortably hot and when they came to put on the A/C days later, it was a cool night and room was cold. All the flooring was disgusting. The carpets everywhere were dirty. I don’t think shower rugs have ever been washed and there was blood on the privacy screen. There was hot water but pressure was so minimal, one woman washed her hair in the sink. There seems to be no one on site and guests piled up dirty dishes; the kitchen was gross. I never dared to open refrigerator. There was an electric kettle and minimal dishes. There was a homeless person sleeping in stepwell. Never again

Disliked: Room comfort
The room is spacious, but its location is terrible. It’s on Thayer Street, where crowds of young people party loudly, screaming and yelling late into the night. The noise lasted till early mornings, making it impossible to sleep.
