"I had an excellent stay at Ly Hotel! The hotel was extremely clean and modernized, with very comfortable beds that made it easy to relax after a long day of walking all around in the city. One of the biggest highlights was the free parking, which is incredibly hard to find in New York and made the stay so much more convenient.
The hotel also has a laundromat, breakfast options, and an on site restaurant, which added a lot of convenience. On top of that, the staff were very helpful and friendly, always willing to assist and make the stay even better.
I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York who wants comfort, convenience, and great service to do the same!"
Holiday Inn Express Long Island City E New York by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"First off the ladies that clean the rooms are awesome. The breakfast was ok two days the food was over cooked but it was food. They have a shuttle that takes you to the nearest subway station which was a plus. "
"Was originally sceptical about this hotel given some of the reviews, however was impressed by the price given the easy and quick transport to manhattan so booked it - and i would absolutely book this hotel again. I came with my boyfriend for 4 nights on a christmas trip to New York and this hotel was the perfect base for us. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the subway station and 1 stop on the M or F train to Roosevelt island and just 10 minutes to Times Square - even less to Central Park, 5th ave, etc. There are reviews mentioning the area being unsafe, and whilst I can’t say it was necessarily a ‘nice area’ - there was a few homeless people, interesting characters and a strong smell of weed almost everywhere, neither me or my boyfriend felt uncomfortable or unsafe at all. There is also quite a few options for food nearby. All the staff we spoke to were kind and helpful and the room was nice, clean, and had a surprisingly great view. Something I really appreciated was the number of power outlets in the room, there was even a usb-c port on the bedside table ! Small things to note : none of these bothered us but the mattress had a plastic covering on it which did make noise and the sheet was very thin (however there was ac and heating which worked very well so wasn’t cold) also they do charge $20 to store baggage after checking out. Overall, very good hotel for the price, location and quality. "
