Unbelievably great place! My husband and I came to fish from the Pez Vela Marina, and Mar y Sombra was the perfect location to stay! The view was beautiful from up on the hill - you can see the marina and the beach and watch surfers and others enjoy the water. Every night we got to watch the sunset from our balcony! The Quepos/Manuel Antonio area is pretty small, so it was both close to town and just a few minutes to the nature park and bigger restaurants. Obviously super close to the marina! The jungle around the property is beautiful too. Inside, the space was comfortable, polished, and well-kept. Everything was super clean, the shower was great, the AC was strong, and the mini fridge really kept things cold! My husband even fell asleep in the big, comfortable hammock. Plus, the owner Mary has thick, room darkening curtains on all the windows and doors, so if you don’t want to wake up when the sun rises at 5am, you don’t have to 😊 You can tell Mary really takes good care of her property! She was also available to answer any questions and even arranged to get our laundry done by someone. We absolutely loved our stay at Mar y Sombra and will stay here again the next time we fish in the area. Thank you, Mary!!!
