The hotel had an amazing breakfast, a perfect location, and was very quiet at night. Unfortunately, our room had an extremely strong, musty, earthy smell, strongest around the bathroom. We both developed headaches while in the room, which improved when we left. We also noticed what appeared to be black mold around the bathroom. When we reported the smell, a staff member acknowledged that the room smelled “grassy” and said someone would investigate. Nobody came, so we called reception again. The receptionist was dismissive, refused to properly investigate or offer a room change, and repeatedly suggested opening the window and lighting a candle, despite us explaining that we felt unwell and the windows were already open. Eventually, two employees came to clean the bathroom sink after noticing the smell themselves. This helped slightly, but the smell remained, and we were told to keep the bathroom door closed for the rest of our stay. We spent three nights in a room with a persistent odor that affected how we felt, despite raising our concerns multiple times. Being told there had never been another complaint did not address the issue or our experience. We also had an issue with the cold water where it was boiling hot, which a technician temporarily fixed, but it returned within an hour. We rarely leave negative reviews, but this was especially a disappointing experience on our honeymoon.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast.
