"A little bit of a walk from the train, but that just gives you more time to take in the sites. Overall, this hotel is great. Aesthetically, it’s top notch. We loved our room and have been talking about it long after our stay. The only knock I’ll give is that the staff felt annoyed when we asked questions. They were very helpful, but sometimes felt reluctant while answering questions or assisting us. That said, I wouldn’t let that deter you from staying here. Next time we’re in Kyoto (and hopefully soon!), we’ll gladly rebook here. "

"One of my favorite hotels I stayed in! Hot springs were incredible, room and shared spaces were very clean. It’s a bit away from all the crowds but still close enough to the station and bus stops making it easy for transportation to farther places when you don’t feel like walking or weather isn’t the best. Huge fan of the late night ramen and ice cream available! Would definitely return."

"This is in an ideal location for walking around Gion and Pontocho and the Nishiki areas. The hotel has a yummy breakfast and the staff is very helpful. Bonus we got essential laundry done in their machines ( easy to use) . The rooms are small but functional. The hotel is on a peaceful street and minutes from anything you would need. 10/10 my family will stay there again"

"Our number one highlight was the staff! Jeff (Ueno) and Hiro were so kind and nice to talk to every day of our stay. Both were very welcoming and willing to help in any way possible. We really loved the free bicycle usage and rode to 7-11 and along the river daily! However, when we reserved the room on Hotels.com it did not reflect what we thought we reserved. The photos did not match up and the amenities listed were inaccurate as well. It said it had an all in one washer/dryer and the room we got had only a washer and bathroom dryer system. It also said it had a toaster which it didn’t. We expressed our concern and the staff was able to relocate us to a little bigger room which was nice since we had 4 adults! We hope to see them posting on hotels.com to be corrected in a timely manner and reflect what people will get when they check into Hiyori Stay! Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much) from your guest from Hawaii! We truly miss you guys! We will be back mainly to visit you guys! ALOHA!🌺"

"The best thing this hotel has is the location, about 2 blocks from the train station other that that I was not impress. Employees do not speak English and not friendly. Breakfast ok Room extremely small. "
