For a quick overnight not bad. No frills, but clean room. Staff was super nice and helpful. Liked having lobby/property only accessible with door code. Good 10 minute walk from Roma Termini. Area isn't the best. Wouldn't feel too comfortable walking around by myself at night. Packed overnight bag and left big suitcase at left luggage at Termini. Worked out well to just pick up in morning and catch Leonardo Express to airport.
Very nice front lady welcomed us. We loved the key system. They have good WiFi. The location is walking distance from Rome terminal station. There are restaurants and grocery in walking distance as well. We took train to move to Rome from Naples, and we appreciate the hotel is close to the train station.
Although old and far from luxurious, the room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and communicated well throughout the process (all through WhatsApp). The only two negatives to consider when booking Hotel Caracciolo is the location (close enough to Roma Termini but in a shadier area of town) and the fact that the reception desk is only open from 8am to 8pm, making late check-in or early check-out a problem.
Overall property was great. Close walk from the main train station. Staff was super friendly and helpful with how to use public transport. Felt pretty safe as you use a personal code to get into both the hotel and your room. Location is a little dark at night (not too many lights) but didn't ever feel 'unsafe'. Good and comfortable stay!
Staff was great and available during the day. They were sincere and you can tell had great service. I would say they would be the main reason I would rebook …
Walkable distance from Roma terminal resulting in easy access to day trips to Pisa,?Naples, etc. Lot of dining options nearby. Safe and friendly staff. Quiet room and ambience. The. Coffee bar 32 is just excellent and super friendly.
It was a small boutique hotel.
We were on the 1st floor which was nice. The staff is amazing.
The area was a bit gritty, but I felt completely relaxed and safe.
Roman ruins are everywhere nearby, easy walking distance.
Under a 5 minute walk to the train station and a really nice supermarket.
Many, many dining options within easy walking distance.
Definitely would recommend
The area doesn’t look very safe. Lots of graffiti however we never felt unsafe. Super close to the train. You can walk to the Colosseum. Plenty of places to eat. Grocery store & convenience stores really close. The hotel is clean. The rooms are a good size. The front desk women were all super friendly & helpful.

Rome
Hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful. Joanna gave us a lot of important informations about the city and things to do. Thank you!!!
Hotel is located close to Rome Termini station. It’s not the greatest neighborhood but convenient location. Few good restaurants and pizzerias near by, Open 24/7 little store on the corner.
Rooms are in retro style, bathrooms freshly renovated. Overall good for the money.
Make sure you have the combination code to the front door and your room if you’re going to check in after 9pm.
Truly loved my stay. The room was spacious. The Tv worked beautifully. We had a mini fridge. The beds were ok in comfort and the AC was amazing didn’t take long for room to get cold. Staff was friendly and helpful. The place located looks sketchy but everyone around was super nice and we felt safe. Many markets, laundry , coffee and food nearby. Perfect stay for resting.
The location looks convenient on the map, and the hotel is a short distance from the station. However, the road leading to it was in very poor condition, with urine and feces along the way. There was no help from reception after 10 p.m., and the outside noise made it difficult to sleep. The main advantage is that it’s inexpensive.
The room was cleaned everyday, the bed was comfy, the shower worked, and the staff was great to work with. Around the corner is the espresso 32 Cafe that was recommended to me by the front desk and it was a great place to have breakfast.
The property is a bit of a walk from the Roma Termini, but not bad. And it is close to the oldest Gelato store in Rome! Very nice room and front desk staff were very nice and helpful.
