Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum Tours

Come face to face with a cunning crocodile, majestic lion and snarling cheetah at this collection of animals from around the globe.

The Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum displays stuffed creatures from all over the world. Visit the center for a first-hand experience with animals you would otherwise never see. You can spend hours enjoying this attraction’s array of activities, including an audio tour, a large theater with a selection of movies and an art gallery.

The museum has nearly 300 species of animals in re-creations of their natural habitats. You’ll feel like you are in Africa or Asia among the lifelike simulations of these settings while hidden speakers play nature sounds from the particular regions. Take the tour at your own pace with a handheld audio guide. Look for a stuffed crocodile ready to attack an antelope, while a giraffe appears to take a drink from a water hole.

Many of the animals were collected more than 40 years ago. Hunter Jimmie C. Rosenbruch and his family donated the collection, said to be worth more than $4 million today. The center provides educational opportunities with its well-preserved examples of animals that have become endangered in their native habitats.

Admire the collections of insects and butterflies. In the 200-seat theater, watch informative movies about animals from many obscure locations. Take part in the Saturday Kids Club or discounted-admission Monday Family Night events for animal-themed fun.

Peruse dramatic drawings, paintings and sculptures of wildlife at the art gallery. Head to the gift shop to purchase books, artwork, toys and clothes with an animal theme.

There is a small admission fee that is a bit cheaper for those aged under 12 or over 55. Toddlers under 2 years enter free. Free parking is available. The site is open Monday through Saturday from morning until evening. The 0.25-mile (0.4-kilometer) indoor pathway through the exhibits is wheelchair accessible.

Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum is in the center of St. George, northwest of the Virgin River and just off the Veterans Memorial Highway. The museum is a 5-minute walk from the Dixie Convention Center and several inns and hotels.

Went through and all the animals are beautifully represented. Then went to the movie they gave at the end where they show all the hunters over their kills and I left with a bad taste in my mouth.
