"Unfortunately, there was an event in the nearby conference centre which meant that a large crowd gathered, who had been drinking, the inevitable fighting commenced and the police had to attend and there was damage to some of the guests’ cars. It appears that this is not the first time this has happened when these sorts of groups book out the conference centre.
On top of this, there was a mix up with the room, despite the fact that I had a face-face conversation with a member of staff to make sure the correct room was allocated before the check-in date.
The hotel itself is clean but does need updating as it is looking tired. The staff themselves were very helpful and tried to help however they could when our problems arose.
At this point in time, I would not recommend a stay mainly due to the problems caused by guests the conference centre, which the hotel itself has no control over."
