"I loved the location, which was right by the pier and within walking distance to sights, shops, and restaurants. Parking garage was nice, but entry/ exit way was a nightmare. Room was small but enough for one night. Unfortunately, very noisy even at night."

"The room was clean and quiet. The women that checked us in was wonderful, I believe her name was Alison (she was from Finland and I apologize if I gave her name wrong). She was friendly, funny and set us up with a great spa experience. Such a beautiful experience to offer guests. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold choices suited for all. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend."

"Our three‑night stay in the Whale Apartment at Steam pier near Tromsø was genuinely wonderful. The space itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and offered fantastic panoramic views that made every morning feel special. The bed was super comfortable, the apartment was quiet, and the location struck the perfect balance — peaceful, yet still close enough to Tromsø to explore easily. What truly elevated our stay, though, was the exceptional staff. As we checked in, the two young people who welcomed us were an absolute delight. Both the young lady and the young man were wonderfully kind, genuinely helpful, and greeted us with bright, happy smiles that instantly made us feel welcome. Their friendliness and positive energy set the perfect tone for our stay and left a lasting impression. Parking: Parking is straightforward, but you do have to pay, and this is clearly stated in advance. Please don’t take it out on the staff when you arrive — they’re not responsible for the parking fees. Just factor the cost into your budget or choose accommodation with free parking if that suits you better."

"Great location in the town center close to the airport bus stop. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in our travels. Only downside was the amenities, as there was only one sort of shampoo/hand wash/ body wash in the bathroom, and there was no coffee machine in the room. But such small issues were not enough to lower our 5 star review:)!"

"We stayed in the junior suite and the room and view were spectacular! We had to leave early and the staff prepared us a breakfast bag to go. Wonderful! We were there for a wedding and the venue was so beautiful. Every attention to detail. The staff went out of their way to be accommodating."

"We had an absolutely unforgettable stay here! From the moment we arrived, Esther made us feel so welcome with her thoughtful and caring hosting. The house itself is incredible—beautiful, cozy, and perfectly located, 15 min drive from the airport, to enjoy Tromsø and the surrounding islands. The highlight of our trip was, without a doubt, the Northern Lights. We were incredibly lucky to witness a long and stunning aurora display right from the house—and honestly, it was even better and longer than what we experienced on a guided aurora tour. Being able to watch it comfortably from the property made the experience even more magical. If you're hoping to see the aurora, this place gives you an amazing chance. Esther’s recommendations were also spot-on and really helped us make the most of our stay. We left feeling grateful for such a special experience and would recommend this place without hesitation. Truly a perfect stay! The only downside I would say is that the hot tub has a fixed price for a day. But also understandable as someone needs to be available for switching on/off. Overall a wonderful experience"
