"Was a very comfortable and welcoming ;delightful stay….The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient ….Breakfast was delicious and very varied …coffee was excellent I will definitely come back"
"Initially some issues with the room where we raised it with the front desk and was moved promptly to another one. Spa and Pool in need of renovation, the outdoor is also in need of some love.
Bar staff extremely slow outside, to the point it was quicker to go inside and order rather than waiting. Really good location, and the hotel could do so much better with some a bit more care and attention to the property and service. Will be back and hopefully it'll be improved!"
"Outside of hotel very shabby, inside looked a lot nicer. No facilities such as catering and spa etc all had to used at their sister hotel next door. Offered sea view room at additional cost, which we did not require. When we got to our room it had a sea view anyway. Room was a good size and clean and comfortable. Parking on site offered as available on arrival yes parking available at £20 per day, no fee was mentioned in the advert, so would have been nice to know in advance, no reduction for guests staying at hotel…"
"Wonderful stay at the Gainsborough Hotel! The town house was magnificent, tastefully decorated and the perfect end to our trip in the Cotswalds. The team was so helpful, polite and welcoming especially Solang and Howard. Cannot say enough about them."
"The Hotel has a nice view of the river. The room was clean and comfortable but rather small, there was only room for one chair in the room so with two guests one would have to sit on the bed. The bathroom was adequate but again rather small. This was Ok for a one night stay but if we were staying longer it would have felt quite cramped.
There was no guide to hotel facilities in the room and the telephone was not working.
Staff were approachable and friendly but I felt they were understaffed at times, particularly in the restaurant.
The continental breakfast was rather uninspiring with a very limited choice of cereals.
It would have been helpful to have known about the car parking charge in advance rather than being told upon checkout."
