"The rating of this hotel on Expedia’s website is rather misleading. The historic building is fantastic, but the rooms are very basic, at best at the level of a two stars hotel. The aircon was not working during a week with temperatures over 32C. When asked, what they will do about it, the staff said it cannot be repaired before the day of our departure. No alternative room was available. We had to insist on the staff sourcing a fan for us. They didn’t even suggest this themselves."

"I booked this hotel because I wanted my kids be able to go in the pool. No one informed me that the pool was undergoing a renovation so it was closed. The only thing the offers me was to see if the public pool was open. No apology, no option to change hotels nothing. Very disappointing for such a reputable hotel chain."

"Check-in was simple and straight forward. Thank you Mikki for that after a stressful day of travel from the U.K. All members of staff, including the Receptionists, Breakfast Room and the Bar Staff that we had dealings with were polite and courteous and happy to help. Facilities were excellent, the bedroom was spacious and very clean and tidy. Despite the very high temperatures outside, we took advantage of the Spa and enjoyed the Sauna and Steam Room, both of which were invigorating and the cool relaxation area was a lovely quiet space to relax after being in both of the above The Breakfast room was light and airy and had plenty of varied hot and cold items to choose from including freshly made to order Omelettes, scrambled egg, bacon and hot dog sausages, cold meats and varied cheeses and I observed a seperate section of Glutten Free foods. My only concern was the grass area adjacent to the pool area was poorly maintained and the sun loungers in that area had an array of bird droppings stuck to the material part."

"1. Super friendly and helpful staff - reception staff, spa staff, pool staff, morning, afternoon and evening food service staff! All of them made an effort to make sure our stay was exceptional! 2. Beautiful floral throughout the property. About as pretty as we have seen. Raided beds a plus. Trees surround the property to ensure privacy and a feeling of being one with nature. 3. Wonderful pool and spa facilities. 4. Excellent food, morning through evening. We look forward to a return trip!"
