"This is the original Motel 6- just about one block from the Santa Barbara beach. It had been decorated in “retro” style and very unique. We would have given it 4-5 stars, but had a big problem- the shower faucet was difficult to turn on and impossible for us to turn off. A desk clerk had to come to our room two mornings to help; our third morning we skipped the shower. So, basically for $300/night, we got a bed and no shower. The desk staff all were pleasant, but could not fix the problem. Apparently no maintenance personnel worked on the weekend. Maintenance problems only happen during the work week??"
