I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Lerwick than the Fort Charlotte Guest House. The place is a gem, a mere steps from the heart of Lerwick. The rooms are clean, quiet and cozy. The staff is hospitable and full of helpful ideas and advice. Ryan’s email communication during and in advance of our stay was exceptional, both timely and informative. The breakfast spread is varied and delicious. I especially enjoyed chatting and sharing experiences with the staff and different world...

Not the fanciest hotel BUT great location and the room was large, clean, comfortable and priced right! Couldn’t ask for more. Parking easy. Dinner was great. Breakfast was wonderful - what a way to start the day exploring Shetland. Ate one night at Frankie’s fish seafood - it was great. Make sure to make reservation if you want to eat at restaurant otherwise it will be take a way. Staff at hotel were great. I would stay here again.

We were weathered in unexpectantly and staff very kind and helpful in making sure we had rooms.

This was a great place to stay. My sole complaint is only being offered instant coffee. There must be a way to do real coffee -- pods, tea/coffee bags?

We were on a 3-week tour of Highlands & Islands. Owners Andrea and Paul were stupendous hosts! So kind and helpful! Food, especially dinner, was first class! We learned much about the history and where to visit. Irving, the waiter, was charming. We strongly recommend.
