"Everything was perfect "

"The property appears to be recently redone with newly painted walkways and building. The parking lot is newly resurfaced and each room is tidy and well supplied. The pool was nice and clean. Each room has southern shutters instead of curtains giving an upscale touch."

"This hotel is extremely dated and unfortunately the walls are so thin you can hear absolutely everything — sneezes, bathroom trips, and full conversations from neighboring rooms. It made the stay feel anything but private (and also made us very aware they could probably hear us too). When we arrived there was a car parked next to us with bullet holes and blown-out windows, which didn’t exactly create the most welcoming or safe first impression. We asked about a refund but since we booked through Expedia we were told that would likely be difficult. To the hotel’s credit, they did upgrade us to another room, which we appreciated. However, the upgraded room still had issues — the bathtub didn’t drain and the water had a pretty unpleasant smell, which made showering less than ideal. The one real upside was having a full kitchen, which was convenient and probably the best feature of the stay. Overall, we appreciated the staff attempting to help by moving us rooms, but the property itself feels very worn down and could really benefit from some serious updates and maintenance."

"Staff didn’t speak any English, room was absolutely horrendous, they DEFINITELY used AI for the photos they posted as the room looked like it belonged in a gas station bathroom. There was pee in the toilet and the room smelled awful. I paid for a “deluxe” room with two beds and walked into a single bed room that honestly made me feel like I was going to leave with bugs on me. Bathroom had dirty soap on the towels. We IMMEDIATELY left after a look for a new place to stay and checked out. Will NOT recommend to anyone! "

"Location of certain property areas was tough to understand even with the map. The Starbucks was just opening and a few of the items were unavailable but they did their best to fulfill our wishes."

"I noticed star island is looking a little run down. I understand wyndham pulled out of star island now. Are you guys folding? Your not putting money into the place. Played bingo and the poor lady had to run the whole thing herself. Collect monies and call. Totally ridiculous! Not sure I would want to come back. "

"The pools were excellent and their were food options on location. I was disappointed that there was a shuttle advertised. I signed up for a ride upon arrival as advised. The next day there was no shuttle. I was told by the front desk to use Lyft and I would be reimbursed. That has not happened. There were hairs in the sheets which they promptly came and changed into a clean set and lots of ants in the bathroom which they did come spray for. I personally won't return but it definitely could have been worse. Breakfast was decent."
