Yoland is an amazing host, she made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay at her B&B. Absolutely would recommend if you want good friendly service and a quiet place to stay near Shrewsbury .
The property had amazing gardens. The house itself was a bit dated, not that we minded, but it had everything we needed and the host was so helpful. Lovely breakfasts with home made jam went down a treat

Lovely stay. Yolanda is a wonderful host. Room was cosy and the breakfast great. Thank you
The hotel is in convenient location for access to main routes to the attractions nearby. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was most enjoyable. Parking is easy. There is a large garden the owners take great pride in.
If you like a real log fire on a cold night, cosy and clean accommodation, charming hosts and a good hearty breakfast, this is the place for you!
Nothing was too much trouble and it was nice to get a real feel and understanding of the local area. The garden is a real treat!
Very quirky property, full of history.
Stunning gardens and views across valley.
Room and en suite very clean and nice comfy bed.
Definitely recommend reading the welcome file in the room, has to be the best I've seen.
Charming host and the breakfast was delicious all locally sourced produce.
I arrived to a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the wonderful husband and wife hosts, who by their own admission are classic car ‘petrol heads’ (kit-cars a speciality). This traditional B and B has all the expected comforts and a breakfast menu ‘not to miss’ incorporating many home made options. A truly delightful stay; and I will definitely return.
We really enjoyed the warm, homely hospitality at this wonderfully traditional B & B. Our bed was super comfortable. The Wif-fi was excellent. In the morning Yolande cooked our breakfast as we chatted. Absolutely delicious. Pancakes to die for. Recommend.
We loved the owners. They are charming, fun, friendly and very interesting. I am sure we will return often over the next few years with our daughter in boarding school in Shresbury.
I first stayed at Brownhill in 2006 while I was helping my daughter to settle in to her first job, at PGL, Boreatton Park. To give her space and time to settle in, I stayed at Brownhill House each time she had a day off, for her first few weeks, and travelled myself in between visits (to show her that if Mum can do it, then so can she!).
This is probably my last trip to the UK, and I chose Brownhill again as it's close to the Ironwork Centre near Oswestry.
The place is still as lovely and inviting as before, and Yolande is just as lovely as she was last time. Breakfast was perfect for me again, and I'm really glad I booked to stay there again.
From the moment we booked this B&B to the minute we left , we were treated like it was a 5 star hotel. Communications by email was great, check in was at our convenience, the welcome...oh my!! Second to none. Our room was just as it says in all their adverts, clean and comfortable, location was a bit far from shrewsbury, so one will need a car but Brownhill house's garden and hospitality made up for the distance. Yolanda and Roger are just lovely, guests are treated like families . Oh, as for breakfast, make sure you're hungry in the morning, it is lush! The owners are great and under rated. Their garden is absolutely beautiful. A national heritage. Thank you both for a beautiful weekend. The village of Ruyton X1 Towns is now on my map. We will come again.
Yoland is an excellent host and she made us feel very welcome. It is a fairly quiet area in a small village with other areas accessible. Beautiful gardens and picturesque scenery.
