This is a lovely hotel with beautiful outdoor pool and seating areas and friendly, helpful staff. There is a generous self-service breakfast buffet plus restaurant and room service options for other meals. Vegetarian options are very limited in the restaurant menu and the hotel should increase its range. My room had a large balcony overlooking the garden area which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and they gave me extra tea and milk to satisfy my love of a brew! The hotel would suit you if you want a quiet location as it's about 10 minutes drive from town. You have to factor in transport for every trip into the city centre rather than just being able to take a stroll. There are plenty of tuk-tuks available via the hotel (more expensive) or these can be flagged down outside (cheaper). As a lone black female traveller I felt mostly welcomed there. My only complaint was when checking out I arrived at the reception desk to settle my bill and was asked to sit down and wait for it to be organised, only for the desk clerk to then start busily serving someone else, a middle aged white man. I watched and waited for several minutes, wondering why my bill had been put aside for another guest. Finally I walked over to the clerk and said I'd return later. If anyone from Lotus Blanc reads this, please ensure that you don't let small issues like this overshadow an otherwise very good hotel experience. Please ensure all customers feel equally valued at all tines. Thank you.
