"Booked a superior room for a visiting business manager Mon-Fri On Weds I was told that his room hadn't been cleaned since he arrived. Shower had to run for upto 10mins before any hot water came through"

"Room was fine, housekeeping didn’t always refresh the teabags which was frustrating and the room service food was overdone and lukewarm by the time it was delivered, which was disappointing. Staff were mainly friendly and helpful although bar staff were abrupt and on one occasion rude."

"Ample parking, friendly reception staff, a very dated hotel, disabled stairlift out of action between reception and bar / restaurant area. Room 109, 24” TV, remote control battery cover gaffer taped up, pixelated picture, reception notified, they changed the co-ax cable and handset, but no real improvement in picture quality. Bedside light did not work, bulb replaced by staff, still didn’t work, so given a freestanding bedside light. Bathroom radiator didn’t work, and couldn’t be turned on, both sink and bath plugs, rubber type, discoloured, as pop up wastes were missing, bathroom extractor fan covered in dust. Restaurant staff overworked, 1 member of staff, trying to setup for a business function as well as trying to keep up with refilling cooked breakfast items. Tablecloths not changed when table had been reset, baked bean sauce stains on the tablecloth. and napkins missing from the table. Definitely wouldn’t return."

"The room was tired, sofa was shiny, make of that what you like, and other than a new looking carpet it was filthy. I went to turn on the heater and it was literally greasy and caked in dust and dirt. I considered not staying and continuing my journey but was too tired, thankfully the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Keep looking.."

"Hotel was dated and felt slightly creepy as we were the only people staying there. We had paid online and breakfast was £12, however when we checked in breakfast was advertised at £7.95, very naughty. Next day we went to breakfast and no one was there. We helped ourselves to coffee and cereal and eventually someone came in to cook breakfast. To be fair it was nice and piping hot as they had to cook from scratch. The same girl was on reception when we left, didnt feel like anyone else was working there? Our bedroom was large but shabby and the hotel wasnt particularly clean. Cost was cheap but still disappointing"

"Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean. It’s a small room but only because it’s a historic beautiful building. It had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant. The food was superb. Good price too. Highly recommended. 👍"
