Soma Bay, Red Sea Governorate hotel rooms at the Princess

"This is a very nice resort with three swimming pools, four restaurants, a large beach and beach front bars. As our suite had an individual pool, we did not spend much time around the large public pools. We did use the gym which had sufficient equipments for a workout. Buffet offered large selections. Room was comfortable. If we come back to the Red Sea, we will stay at this resort again. "

"Second time here. The (multiple!) main restaurant food is good. Not spectacular, The a la carte restaurants excellent. We went here for the kids. 5 aquapark areas. 2 for very little kids; one right up at the top of Bluemarine (2 flumes + some smaller slides), the other one down near the beach (some slides). These are suitable for infants and of little interest to my (strong swimmer) 6 year old. There are then 3 other parks. One in Bluemarine with 5 flumes, another on the left of the beach with 6 larger flumes, including a inflatable ring flume, then the main inflatable ring park with inflatable 3 ring flumes. 120cm height limit posted on all of them which seemed fair, but in true Egyptian style, theres a tape across the rulers at 130cm. My 6 year old is 125cm and was only put up against the ruler once but after reassurance from me that he could swim was allowed to ride Again, smaller kids in arm bands were being allowed on, take 120cm as the limit though. Pools were great, lots of them, all quite shallow and great for playing with the kids. One pool reserved for adults. We did walk out over the sand to snorkel a few times along the reef. And theres a new pier being constructed right now to facilitate this more which will probably be a couple of months in construction. You can get a bitnof snorkeling in, but its a 10 minute walk and then a bit of a swim to get to the interesting reef. We used the on-site, Egypt lnternational for snorkeling trips and diving trips. "

"The staff was amazing especially Abd El Hamid from housekeeping and Abd El Baset ( one of the chefs; he had Falafel prepared especially for me At breakfast), beach staff were brilliant. All staff were professional, friendly, helpful, smiley. Sea water was stunning, I had a sailing catamaran course with Mohamed Shaaban who was a genius. Thank you to all the staff and will definitely go back."

"I stayed here for many nights, the descriptions states it has few restaurants. But doesn't state you'll need to reserve 4 restaurants atleast 24-48hrs before.You cannot eat there without booking. There is only 1 main restaurant that has it's operating time. Breaky 7-10am, lunch 1-3pm dinner 7-9.30. There are not any snack places to eat if you have young children and want something for the them to have away from the designated times. Which is a downside to this resort as kids get hungry and need snacks throughout the day or your timings are just different. Ice cream is served daily 3-4pm only. Which is another downside for a 5star hotel. The are costs are extortionate for spa, and gym if you like to use it. You'll have haggle the prices not ideal for the guest. The hotel cleaning is utterly poorly. Our cleaner called Ahmed never changed our bedding, never refilled soaps or change towels. I used to tell him daily but he always ignored me. The reception didn't take the complaint on board either. Then resort itself is beautiful but doesn't hold 5star treatment. Ive been to better resorts and worth the money we pay. This resort is expensive but low standards. The location is futhur out. excursions prices will always be higher with additional costs. Its 45 mins away from airport. 20 mins away from Senzo mall and 1 hr away from Old dowtown hurghada. I've attached photos of the worn out bedding that they still use. Safety issue lifeguards are limited at pools and beachs."

"Prior to arrival, my experience was only ok as I had trouble reaching them; however upon arrival, every staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great events and activities organized throughout the week to keep everyone entertained. Also good selection of food and wine. Location was also superb. They’ve got their own private beach that’s got the beautiful water and coral reefs and if you want to dive is also walkable. "
