Roaches, cockroaches, infested the room we stayed in. The 1st issue was when we arrived we noticed a putrid smell. There was an air purifier in the kitchen area. We assumed the smell was because the island had a bad storm in the weeks prior to our visit and the island had flooded. We arrived late the 1st day and barely spent any time in the room. The next day during sunny hours we started to notice bugs in the kitchen but it wasn't until that night we realized they were roaches. The later it got the more they were infesting the room. That night I stayed up all night taking photos and videos. The next day I called the property owner and no answer so I called Expedia. Expedia made the calls for us and I was refunded all of our money except for the 1st night. No apologies from the property owner. Worst experience we ever had at a rental.

Everyone hung out at my place

I initially tried to book a room at the hotel hosting our annual convention but it was filled, so I booked a room at Gulfview Condos. My room was so much like living at my own place. So much that friends I met at the convention wanting to hang out at my place after each day of meetings. Their hotel rooms were too small and did not have enough seating for everyone to relax and talk. I'll choose Gulfview again if ever in South Padre Island.
