The Spokane Convention Center does not allow any outside food to be brought in. The property itself was very nice; clean restrooms, etc. We were there for USARS event and found the prices for even the simplest food to be exorbitant. $5 hotdog; $3 soft drink. The events required us to spend extensive time at the facility and the food situation was very frustrating. Suggest making sure you have meals before you go to an event there, particularly if you are traveling with children. Security was everywhere and, at times, invasive to point of making me feel like I had broken a law or something just by being there, constantly checking wrist bands, insisting that child athletes return to rink to get a lanyard when they were in full hockey gear and had been there for days.

Check out The Browns Addition neighborhood and the historic business area. Beautiful homes and architecture. Spokane River is nice and downtown Spokane is clean with lots of places to dine and have coffee. Fun city to explore on foot!
