I enjoyed my stay at Torrington Hall. I was in St Albans for work and needed a room at short notice. The self check-in instructions were sent to me in advance and were very clear. The room was lovely, with good wifi, a desk to work on, comfortable bed, and a smart TV so I could login to Netflix/Prime. The bathroom was large with a good size shower which was hot with good pressure. There was a fridge in the room and tea/coffee facilities which were very useful. Being able to use the kitchen upstairs was an added bonus. The parking was free and available on both days of my visit, even after I had checked out. I will definitely stay again. My only note for the venue is that the bulb in the bedside lamp needed replacing.

I have to stay in St Albans for work from time to time and Torrington Hall is my favourite place to stay. It has so much more character than some of the soulless hotels I have stayed at in the area. It is well located for the town center and the cathedral. The rooms are generally well presented although, because each is different, some are nicer than others. My personal favourite is St Michael's. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfy. Parking is never an issue despite being so close to the center of town. Overall a lovely place to stay in St Albans.

Boutique and modern rooms

A lovely boutique hotel (basically renovated rooms in a historic mansion). Rooms were comfortable and modern. Had a mini fridge in each room (which is rare), and access to a shared kitchen area for cooking etc. which was handy. Could do with some facial tissues in the room. Other than that, the check in/out process was contact-free and fuss-free. Would stay again in future!

The rooms were very large, the ensuite was clean and toiletries were provided. The only suggestion would be for the floorboards in the room above Sopwell (ground floor) to be screwed down as these were squeaky when the occupant in the room above was moving around which woke us up as the squeaks were quite loud. The free parking was great and the system was easy to use, the instructions sent prior to arrival were clear for the check-in and checkout process.

Lovely place to stay

easy access, lovely spacious room, good central location & ample secure parking. Only grumble was that we left windows open and there was a lot of traffic noise in the morning - should have used the fan (provided) instead, so our mistake. Plus, some of the UHT milks and decaf coffee sachets provided were out of date. Overall however, would definitely stay there again
