“We had a lovely stay over several days. Breakfast was meh. The place is not fancy. But the location is great--a quiet spot on the water. The room was spacious, and the balcony was such a nice amenity. The hotel is in a rural, residential area, so bring food before heading out. There is a seafood restaurant next door, but it is closed certain days of the week. It is a bit of a drive to other restaurants or grocery stores. But that was part of the appeal. “Everything about the Swanendele Inn was exceptional: the location, the accommodations, the facilities, the decor, the hosts, and, not least, the breakfast. In fact, you could spend several days just exploring the remarkable antiques and artifacts around the place. However, what made the strongest impression was the fiery glow of dawn though the pine trees outside our balcony every morning in the Margeret Brent suite.
