"This stay was far better than I'd hoped. Room was spacious, carpets clean and while not brand new, very nice. Best bed I've slept on in a hotel or motel, including ones far more expensive. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The mini-store located on site was a huge help getting basic necessities. The continental breakfast is iffy -- juice was out while we were there, and pickings are somewhat slim -- but that's not why we stayed there. They do not make up your room while you are there, so be aware, but they resupplied us with towels and toilet paper on request. Not a ton of frills, but an inexpensive place that makes a great base of operations to explore the Upper Peninsula."

"Great hotel to stay with our family. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfy. It was also very quiet overnight, no slamming doors and loud hallways. Would stay again if in the area. One thing to note was we visited during a busier season but the hotel didn’t seem to adjust their breakfast inventory to accommodate the full hotel. And the pancake maker was broken throughout our stay which was a disappointment for the kids. Nothing that would hold me back from staying."

"The owners were delightful and friendly and the quant Motel charming, they have really put a lot of effort into restoring this gem. The shower head and water pressure were wonderful the beds comfy and the check in process flawless. The location is great. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and very close to the kayaking tours. Only complaint is that the coffee not ready till a bit after 7, so if your an early bird like me, you need to go get some (there is Folgers’ brew sachets in the rooms), and lack of fan in bathroom. Otherwise we loved it!!!"

"The welcome when we arrived was amazing. Very friendly! It's "budget", but doesn't feel that way. It's a small motel, where it's obvious that they take pride in maintaining a pleasant, clean, reasonably priced place on the edge of downtown Munising. (So it's a great location, too.)"

Pictured Rocks Bed And Breakfast

"Despite the name, this is not a B&B - it's a few rooms on the back of the owner's home. The guests share a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and some outdoor deck space. A few days before we arrived, the owner sent a message saying he doesn't provide breakfast (which other reviews have noted but I hadn't read until after we arrived), and suggested picking up groceries on our way, and he refunded $10/day/person to cover those (at checkout). Good: The bedroom was large and had a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. The shared space with other guests was bright and comfortable, with great views of the lake. The kitchen was fully equipped, so cooking meals there would have been easy (although we didn't). The bathroom had lots of nice towels. The owner was generous in sharing the laundry facilities - and even folded our laundry (which was a surprise!) when I went out before it was done. Bad: Maintenance isn't great. The door to our bedroom took a lot of work to open & close. Many of the windows don't open. The shower had a bottle of shampoo, two bottles of conditioner.... and no soap. The air conditioning in the bedroom (it was *really* hot) was very noisy and rattled. Really bad (but not the owner's fault): Cell service and wifi are pretty much unusable. It's a fabulous location, and the price wasn't bad. I wish the name were more accurate, and the maintenance were better."
