The hotel was definitely dated. There seems to be some renovations happening. Very limited staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. Pool area was nice. Overpriced for what you got, in my opinion. I guessing when it was built, it was quite something. It’s just been let go. Hopefully, they will turn it around.

It was a beautiful indoor pool. The room had a foul odor on arrival. Resolved with candles and air on. No refrigerator and could not get one as they didn’t have enough to accommodate us. Overall indoor pool was wonderful, room was spacious.

When we first got a room The outside table to our room had cigarettes and beer bottles on it and it reeked of smoke, the staff were very nice and changed us to another room. No mini fridge the hot tub she said was no longer in use because it broke and they never fixed it and neither was the bar downstairs open anymore , the outside looks so run down. It’s such a same because at one point the host hotel was beautiful these new owners have really let the place rot. We did use the pool and that was nice.

The hotel is very old and needs upgrading. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is big and like a maze. Finding the elevator was a challenge. If you have a lot of things with you, prepare yourself. The owners should definitely consider renovations and more easily accessible elevators. The hotel has no air. Corridors smell like a mix of dust and fragrance. If you have allergies, you need to be aware. The rooms are outdated. The bed and sheets are clean and comfortable. I was on the second floor looking at the lake, but I couldn't see it because of the tree branches. It would have been great if they were trimmed. Wifi is not really working properly.I had to use my phone hotspot to work. The hotel pool was okay, but I don't know if anyone is checking the water quality every day. I haven't seen anyone attending to it. One of the best things I experienced was that the hotel has kayak rentals, and it was absolutely wonderful. Being right by the lake was amazing. The view was peaceful. The location is great. It is within walking distance to Coffe Shops and Old Sturbridge Village. But it is a very busy road. The hotel definitely has potential, but without updating and upgrading, it is not healthy. The price is paid is not reasonable for the stay at the hotel.

The staff was top notch... so friendly and kind and helpful!! The place is super run down, they are doing some exterior work and lobby work but the room I stayed in which I paid $175 through Expedia was only $140 through the hotel, but the calling paint and texture is peeling, there was mold on the ceilings in the bathroom, the elevator had puke blood or something on the dark chocolate carpet walls, the place has potential but needs a ton of money for renovations... there's so much more but I'm gonna stop here!!

Expedia needs to update this properties availability. There is NO RESTAURANT, BAR OR BUFFETT BREAKFAST on site. The inside smells stale. The rooms with a balcony are in the facility! You have to request a outdoor balcony. The facility needs a lot of TLC! The outside needs TLC. The grassy area is half grass half dirt with weeds. The building needs a desperate re-paint. There is no help available with your luggage. The beach is approximately 50×50ft. No water tours or boats. The lake is beautiful and very Zen. The staff have told me that they have many complaints about what is offered online via what is actually offered once they arrive. This facility could once again be a beautiful welcoming get-a-way with some work. Including the vacant dilapidated Ox Tavern on site. All this place offers is a clean bed and a relaxing lake to look at.

This property feels like one of the last standing resorts from its glory days. While it could definitely use some extra upkeep, it wasn’t a bad place to stay at all. The charm and unique location made it feel more like an experience than just a stay. Staff was limited, especially with dining hours, but there were plenty of great food options nearby to make up for it.

We were extremely disappointed in the Sturbridge host, the room they put us in was pool side and was very damp and reaked of chlorine. I was given a hard time not once but three times for my service dog. The room had mold on the ceiling, and there were bugs in my dogs food when we got up in the morning. The toilet didn’t work correctly, it had no pressure to flush properly, and the shower had very poor water pressure as well. Overall, I would have to say we will not be staying here ever again. If you are going to visit Sturbridge, I would suggest staying at the comfort inn.

The hotel was really rustic, lake was beautiful for fishing and a little picnic. It’s nice for a little getaway, the location was awesome, it had a ton of good places to eat close by. I am giving 5 stars because of how nice staff were to us, would definitely come back. Don’t believe all the bad reviews, this place is indeed a little older than hotels but it has a nice charm to it.

Beautiful area to picnic near the lake/pond. This a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, since Covid they no longer have a restaurant, hot tub and the adjacent restaurant has closed. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

There was a wild music conference, but we were put in a part of the hotel that was quiet. We felt nervous when we arrived. The room smelled musty, but appeared clean. The couch was very old and needed replacement. Staff was accomodating.
