The Gretenham B&B in Swanage is clean, quiet, well-located and a great value. The best of it all are the hosts Lou and John, with their great advice for local sights and restaurants, warm welcome, comfortable, attractive rooms and an extensive breakfast menu that reflects Lou’s years as a restaurant owner. Be sure to ask about local walks - their library of guides/maps is a great resource.

Lovely stay

Arrived and was greeted by our friendly host who made us feel at home. Bed & breakfast was in walking distance of the town with plenty of eateries & pubs. Room was small by very comfy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was chosen from menu previous night and cooked freshly in morning. We were made to feel very welcome, would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely clean, light and spacious room. Close to plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants but situated in quiet side street. Bespoke breakfast delivered to your room at a time of your choosing and was beautifully cooked and presented. Host was super friendly and helpful - all in all a great stay

John & Lou were excellent hosts and very welcoming also they could not have been more helpful, including with suggestions and recommendations of were to eat in the evening. We were pleased that the area was so quiet at night and the breakfast was first class. We would not hesitate to recommend them and would be happy to return ourselves.

Great location, but parking not easy. Thankful the owners son gave up his space nearby for us. Good size room, we slept well. The shower was really easy to control and we had the best towels during our week away.. Really good breakfast, served in our room. Would recommend. Disappointed local pubs were not as we remembered them… lack of real ale… but we like the independent shops… Ate at the best chippy; The Fish Plaice.
