Clean rooms, right on the water. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Free parking for rental car! And super comfy king size bed!!
Great pizza right across the street even at 2 am when I got in.

The room was beautifully appointed and very clean, although small. The hotel is very impressive and grand. However, the concierge was disappointing. He was not very friendly, made no effort to get to know us, to personalize our experience or inquire why we were there. He did not explain the amenities or offer any advice on things to see/do in Victoria. We were there to celebrate our 30th anniversary and it was a treat for us to stay at the Empress, but I would have expected better service at a hotel of this calibre.
