“My two daughters and I normally stay in 5 star hotels when vacationing. This trip was a last minute getaway to Wisconsin Dells. I looked at different hotels in the area, but most of them were booked and/or slightly higher in cost for the dates we needed. Then I started looking at motels. There were many to choose from, but again we normally don't stay at motels. So, I am looking at all the reviews and one particular motel kept coming up with 4.8 to 5 star reviews. It was the Black Hawk Motel....

“We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! One of the first things we noticed was how clean everything was. Our room was spotless, spacious, and had a lot of what looked like brand-new furniture—some pieces, including the sleeper sofa, still had the tags attached. The mini fridge was much larger than expected, and the room also had a safe. The only thing we noticed missing was a microwave, though we didn’t ask if one was available. The staff was plentiful, friendly, and always visible...

“I booked a king suite with jetted tub. Immediately upon entering the room the deep smell of cigarette use permeated the room. There were two chairs in the suite part of the room that were severely worn and old and large areas of stains on the carpeting. Walking into the bedroom section the cigarette use smell only worsened although there was an attempt to mask the smell with heavy air fresheners, to no effect. I had just driven 8 hours to the location and was very fatigued and tired and sat...

“Rented 5 rooms for family. Everything was perfect except that all 5 room floors were dirty. Walking on the floors turned everyone’s (17 people) feet black. Recommend providing each room with a broom and dustpan to sweep up the sand that gets tracked in. Rooms were clean otherwise. Plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. 4 pillows per bed. All 5 families said they would definitely stay again.”

“Jetted tub in the room was nice and worked great. Very convenient location to downtown Wisconsin Dells. Property could use some updates and maintenance. Breakfast had a few decent options like cereal, eggs, sausage, hash browns no bacon though😔. Overall was a decent stay.”

“We enjoyed our stay so much!!! Free noahs ark tickets each day is an amazing amenity! The motels indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub we so clean, great size. My.kids loved the shamrock shaped pool the best. Vending, ice machine, and grills were awesome We all had a great time!”

“We had a wonderful stay for our stop at Wisconsin dells for the day on our trip to Mount Rushmore. Lisa & Eric were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. My 3 year old loved the whale slide (his first water slide). There was a graduation party going on annd was worried about the noise but didn’t even hear a peep. Excellent stay if on a budget and just need a nights rest.”

“Pool across the street was small, but nice and quiet. Bathrooms in the rooms are ridiculously small! Basically enough room to stand in them (the sink is outside the bathroom). Soap and shampoo dispensers were both empty. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for breakfast first morning. Second morning we knew to not even bother to try to get any. Getting coffee and Starbucks inside restaurant was also impossible on Saturday morning as workers were there and acknowledged us, but never came to wait...

“This location is the BEST for downtown, right off the strip. Clean pool!! Upstairs rooms facing the road are the best. Beds and pillows comfortable. They have ROKU TV..if you don't know how to use it, it's hard to get going. Not alot of extra outlets in the room. No USB ports. My only complaint is the shower...we found black hairs in tub and the tub was not draining right. The shower was a little difficult to figure out. I would definitely stay here again..”
