Great position - not so great building

This is a very old building that is no longer suitable for stays. The parking is terrible for larger four wheel drive vehicles. Appears to be a large block of ground the should be redeveloped as it is in a great position.

Pleasant Stay

Pleasant stay with good service. Rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels. The car parking could have a better set up.

Cheap, but in dire need of a makeover

Room was clean, had aircon and a fan that kept the room cool enough to sleep even though night temperatures were at 25-28 degrees. Motel had big parking spaces, and is situated close to city centre and promenade. However the room, and entire hotel needs a makeover. Paint was peeling in the room's roof, a hatch in bathroom hung on by two screws, clots of paint on walls for no obvious reason, walls that were showing marks of where lamps had been placed previously, the list cold be endless... This is by far the most run down of the motels we've stayed in during our time in Australia so far. All others with 8+ rating have been in much better shape than this one.

The swimming pool has a few broken tiles, but it’s still a great temperature and inviting. Room and bathroom were very clean.

What a sweet little motel. Right on the esplanade that runs along Townsville's strand, this little gem is a budget-priced facility with a big heart and heaps of character. It's no-frills, but each room is well thought-out. There's a microwave, crockery and cutlery, fan as well as air conditioning (and functioning windows so you can catch the sea breeze). It's quiet, it has its own cafe open for breakfast, and a tonne of parking. There's even a pool. It's nowhere near as fancy as other places, but it's also nowhere near the price. Will definitely stay again. Perfect location, surrounding by cafes and the pub, a Coles, bottle shop and everything else you'd need for a comfortable stay.

Ok in parts, horrible in parts

Check in was a nightmare after being told room was cancelled and prepaid bookings not accepted and receptionist having to chase their toddler inside multiple times. Room was tidy enough, however was awoken the next morning to fighting, yelling and screaming down the hallway which required me to ring the police as there was no way out of the room when the fighting moved down the hallway. I understand that the fighting was out of the hotel’s control, however it would have been nice for them to check that we were ok, as I was quite shaken and had to ring the police. There is also a lack of car parking spaces, however I’m almost thankful for parking on the road given the location of the fighting which went from down the hall, past our room, down the stairs and into the car park.

Great location on the strand with plenty of restaurants,cafes and bars around.. Coles supermarket only 50 mt away also. Room was clean and tidy, reception/managers were friendly.

Close to beach, eateries.

Very noisy from on ground floor with guests passing by. Cars parked write up to your front door. No water pressure in the shower a had to run hot water for 3-5 minutes before it came through. Toaster worked when it wanted to, with the microwave having the same attitude.

Charming, well looked after and right on the water

I was really impressed with this motel, John was very friendly and made me feel very welcome and looked after. The room had everything you need and was very clean and well cared for. Was very good value for money even in peak season and a great location

Old building, needs to be pulled down

Cheap budget motel in a good location. Staff very friendly but building needs to be pulled down. Would not recommend this motel to my friends to stay in. Find somewhere else nicer with better facilities to spend your money to stay in.
