We had less than 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and no extra rolls were in the room. 2 tiny bars of soap, no shampoos or any other amenities. Mattresses were only about 5" thick and were like sleeping on plywood. Pillows were very thin and uncomfortable. One of the bedspreads had a big tear on the top. No fitted sheets on the bed and the sheets that were there kept coming untucked. The place is for sale. It is like they don't care anymore.

Office staff was friendly and polite. The room needed a thorough cleaning-bathroom was clean, but carpet needed to be cleaned and vacuumed. Carpet edges were disgusting, carpet was dirty and sticky and there was actually stuff in the corners that a quick vacuum of the middle of the room missed. The bedspreads were tattered and stained. And while the door locked, it did not shut tight(appeared to have been pried open previously) so it really was not secure.

Nice stay for the price. staff extremely helpful and available. room conditions were satisfactory, did the trick for the trip. Mancelona has the basic necessities for any traveler. I'd stay again...

It was a nice little roadside motel. Nothing special, but it was clean and had a comfortable bed. This suited my needs on the night I stayed there.

Poorly maintained motel

Bedspreads were stained and in poor condition. Mattresses were very old, saggy and uncomfortable. This is not a motel I will ever use again nor recommend to anyone.

Nice small room. Had a fridge and a microwave with a flat screen. Beds and bathroom were decent, not the fanciest but it'll do. Had free coffee and a snack bar where you can buy pop and chips.

Just what we needed!

On short notice we needed a place to stay for one night for a funeral the next day. We got a great rate on line. Then called as we were leaving to let them know we wouldn't be arriving until 11pm. That is after they normally close. So they left our key in an envelope with instructions. We were very happy upon are arrival to find everything as we hoped it would be. There are nicer resort or chain motels but for a small town locally owned motel it was perfect for the night and everything we needed!

Not at all recommended

We requested a late check-in while booking the motel. But when we reached the hotel we found the office was closed. Then we contacted Hotel.com and they wasted 2hrs of our time without any result. At first Hotel.com tried to reach the hotel as they were convinced that the Motel offers 24-hr check-in facilities. Then Hotel.com attempted to find an alternate location and demanded that we pay the bills of this motel (where we were never able to check-in) first. At last we found a place ourselves in a different town. Horrible experience.

Mancelona Motel

Exact accommodations I was looking for. Location fit my needs. Microwave, fridge, clean, nice bathroom and shower. Bedding was clean and the water was hot. My only concern was the damaged door jam that showed signs of a break-in. I took a picture and showed both the night staff and the day staff. Owner was out of town for that weekend.

Not a good choice

We booked this hotel as almost all the hotels around Traverse City were fully booked. The hotel is in the middle of no where. Good that there is Macdonald right next to it as it does not include free breakfast. The room is spacious, however by the time we found out there were specs of stain on the mattress which looked like bedbugs (we checked it over the internet), the office was closed. We will defintely not stay at this hotel again.

Clean and comfy

Room was small, but efficient for a golf weekend getaway. All we ask is a clean comfortable bed and a hot shower when we are done golfing for the day and the Mancelona Motel delivered Fridge and micro in room, towels were clean and fluffy (even better than some 4 star Hotels). TV needs an upgrade. All in all though will stay here again
