Good value for money; room with comfortable bed, air conditioning, strong WiFi, mini-fridge and kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. I could still walk from the hotel to the beach and the seaside garden. Breakfast was ok (the coffee was very good) and coffee-to-go was possible.
A modern hotel in the southern part of Varna. Good sized rooms with modern decor and comfortable beds. Secure parking (paid), decent buffet breakfast, friendly staff (mostly). Rooms don't have aircon (only heating) so the higher floors can get quite hot, even in autumn. I needed to have the window open pretty much the whole time. Wifi could be a bit flakey in rooms at the edges of the hotel, and there's a lot of traffic noise if your room is at the front of the building. Restaurant is average quality and overpriced for what it is. And being charged 6 euro a day to park a motorcycle in an otherwise unused corner of the garage felt a bit mean - it's one thing if you take up a parking spot for a car, but when you're just in a random corner with other junk...
We selected Aqua Varna because of it's location close to restaurants at the port and the centra pedestrian area. The cost was reasonable for the quality of the hotel and it had on site parking. The hotel restaurant was good and the staff were very helpful. Well done AQUA
front desk staff was so nice. I arrived very early and she was able to let me into my room earlier than the check in time! The transit system around the hotel is very good and there is a great gas station next to the hotel convenience. It is also very close and walkable to many major sites, the beach, museums and more. The room itself was very clean, it was a HUGE room. The bed was comfortable and the re was more than enough space to relax.
The price was good comparitively for this area at this time, but as a seaside location, Varna is still more expensive than other Bulgarian cities. I did have buffet breakfast included, however.
The buffet seems to be normally rated as excellent, but I would just say that it was ok. Yes, there was a selection similar to most full buffets, but more modest in size, perfectly edible but not special, and the prices and quality when I had one dinner I would describe as similarly ok, but just average.
The staff were great, and the room was clean with everything I needed, and the location was great for me, travelling with heavy bags, because it is only about 200metres from the train station, and other transport options to Varna are limited.
You can fly, but there aren't many flights, long range buses don't run every day, and train travel is very cheap. I have found the trains reliable, even though they look and feel like they are held together with cloth tape :) You can walk from this hotel to anywhere at the Port, beautiful Sea Garden, or the centre, if you are happy with 15-30 minute walks.
The hotel standards in Varna, in spite of it being a major Black Sea resort town, are not as good as in Sofia or Plovdiv, so travellers should try to reach up an extra star rating to get what they normally expect. The city has a lovely location, however.
My overall good rating, therefore, reflects that this was a comfortable and good option in Varna, and I will stay here again.
Highly recommended this hotel for those who want to stay at the good location for reasonable price. Very good rooms, perfect breakfast and service!
Enjoy your stay there!
- The area is very quiet, it is good if you want to relax .
-the breakfast is very good.
- the staff are very helpful.
- as a solo, the location is ok for me, but for a family using public transportation it would be bit difficult to move, it is 10 - 15 mins away ( walking )from the train station Mozzate .
The hotel is in a fairly good location - it is very close to the train station and is within walking distance of the city centre. The hotel was clean and it was clear that it was undergoing refurbishment - the room was very modern, though the bathroom was in desperate need of a refit.
