Hotel du Lac Champlain, an Ascend Collection Hotel

"This is a hidden gem of a hotel. We chose it because of the lower cost compared to hotels in Montreal. The room was spacious, new, and clean. Aside from a towel hook that was coming loose the room was in great shape. The rotating TV wall was a neat feature. Wifi in the room was a bit spotty but the staff kindly allowed me to work for a few hours in a meeting room with strong wifi. Nespresso machine in the room is convenient, but the hotel should provide nespresso brand pods (instead of generic) as they are more compatible with the machine. The golf course is beautiful and we were able to walk the cart path in the early morning and later evening with no golfers present. The spa area, though an extra cost, is relaxing with a good variety of indoor and outdoor spaces and experiences, however, the indoor dry sauna was running at well over 100 degrees C which is beyond what is a safe temperature is for a sauna. The lakeside town was quiet in late September with a few restaurants open and a good grocery store. It was pleasant walking around the town. Highly recommended hotel for a relaxing getaway and a great value in shoulder season."

"The room was clean and staff were attentive. The champagne on arrival in the room was unexpected and appreciated. The 4 Canards restaurant looks elegant and staff were excellent, the food quality and quantity however did not live up to expectation."

"J'ai beaucoup apprécié le contact avec l'hôte qui a facilité notre arrivée plus hâtive. Un seul bémol, la fenêtre où se trouve le divan-lit devrait avoir des rideaux opaques car l'éclairage de rue dans cette pièce dérange. Cela dit, si j'avais à retourner dans la région, je retournerais à cet endroit."

"This room was absolutely beautiful, built in suana and jetted tub private. Outside on the terrace there was an additional hot tub for all paying guests with swings and a seating area. Breakfast was included with fresh coffee continuously, tea and outside of breakfast room sitting area, parking in the back of the building and overall amazing wood features and beautiful rocks throughout the building, our room even had two bird feeder built in to view them eat and nest. They had in room microwaves, fridge, coffee maker, dinner table, two large tvs, nice living room couches and amazing king size bed with downed pillows. Staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and full of information. Would I recommend yes and I would go again."
