๐๏ธReflections - Aurlandsfjord - Sogn og Fjordane - Norway๐ณ๐ด ๐ทNikon D7500 - ISO 400 - Nikkor 18-200mm lens f3.5-5.6 G - 18mm - f/11,0 1/250 sec ๐The Norwegian language (Norwegian: Norsk), is a North Germanic language of the West Scandinavian branch. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties, and some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages๐, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages๐, constitute the North Germanic languages๐. The Norwegian language consists in two distinct and rival normsโ๏ธ: Bokmรฅl or Riksmรฅl, also called Dano-Norwegian and Nynorsk or New Norwegian. โก๏ธDuring the 15th century, the old Norwegian writing traditionsโ๐ป gradually died out after the union of Norway๐ณ๐ด with Denmark๐ฉ๐ฐ and the removal of the central government to Copenhagen. In 1814 Norway achieved the independence but the linguistic union๐ with Danish persisted. Educational problems due to the linguistic distance between Danish and spoken Norwegian and also to sociopolitical matters, stimulated a search๐ for a national standard language. Ivar Aasen, a self-taught linguist๐, constructed in 1853 a language norm primarily from the dialects of the western and central rural districts. This standard continued the Old Norwegian tradition and was meant to replace Danish, he called it Landsmรฅl, but now it is officially known as Nynorsk. He presented the New Norwegian norm in a grammar, a dictionary and numerous literary texts๐. Finally, in 1885 the New Norwegian was officially recognised as a second national language. โจ๐Today, all Norwegians learn to read and write New Norwegian, but only about 20 percent use it as primary written languageโ๐ป. โDid you know that Norway๐ณ๐ด is the largest exporter of salmon in the world, but the countryโs national dish is Fรฅrikรฅl (mutton stew)?
While driving from Bergen to Oslo, we went through this region of beautiful lakes. I've never seen such perfectly reflecting pools of water. This was actually shot on my iPhone out the car window.
