“A lovely clean and easily accessed hotel. The room had everything I required, a nice comfy bed, tea, coffee and biscuits along with a desk and chair.The bathroom is well spaced out with a wonderful powerful shower . The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I strongly recommend a stay at the King Alfred.”

“Considering the price, the apartment was ok. There is an air fryer, kettle and toaster. Washing up is a challenge in the small sink in the bathroom. Filling the kettle is difficult as it doesn't fit under the tap in the bathroom! The bed was ok, but you can feel the springs. The TV didn't work as the aerial lead was damaged. The hair drier was dangerous as it was full of dust and smelt of burning. The views over the bay were spectacular. Ok for a couple of nights, no longer though.”

“Breakfast was very good. Room a bit small and no drawers to put any thing. Staffs are good. The only problem is they didn't make up my room even though I put up the sign.”

“I stayed for Dave Day, June 26. The hotel could not have been more busy! But the staff had permanent smiles with a very helpful attitude. Inspite of probably being asked the same questions 100 times. Wish there was an extra star for them. A credit to the management.”

“The outside isn't pretty, but don't let that influence you. The room is excellent. It was nice to have cold water in the fridge and a piece of chocolate in the room upon arrival- nice treat, no charge. We found the bed a little hard and the room warm. The staff brought us a fan so sleeping was much better.”

“The room was very dusty. There was brick dust on the bathroom walls together with cobwebs. There was dust stacked on the hand basin waste and mould on the curtains. To get hot water to the basin you had to run the tap for at least 10 minutes and you could not get any hot water to the shower at all. The car park was a joke....7 or 8 spaces for a 40 room hotel.”

“Clean room, comfy bed and a good shower. Hallways could have done with a quick vac. Missed second day breakfast but still enough left.”

“From easy parking, ease of checkin, spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed. Hot drink making facilities and a nice addition of water in the mini fridge, access to a dining area downstairs with microwave, hot drink facilities and a toaster was all you needed. The price reflects the absence of breakfast supplied and to be honest, we preferred this option. Great value for money. We will be back! ”

“Recently refurbished to good standard. Only thing is I would liked to have had a drawer or two for my smalls. The room was spacious enough. Nice breakfast area. Private parking for about a dozen cars or so. Across the road from the Town Hall, a lovely building Bus stops very nearby A refundable charge is made to ones card in arrival, which is refunded after a couple of days.”

“A lovely pub with a stunning beer garden and direct access to the canal path for walks to Carnforth Morecambe and Lancaster. Only issue was the heat in the room which I appreciate it was unusually hot but room 3 also has a large noisy extractor fan outside the window so it was either heat or noise. The fan does get turned off at night. Would still stay again and the food was excellent.”

“The location is perfect with easy access & a car park at the back (payable) & also a tunnel going through to the promenade, perfect for a stroll. The view from the bay fronted room was stunning; highly recommended. The staff are all very hard working but courteous at all times & can't do enough for you. The food is good & reasonably priced. The poached eggs and mushrooms I had for breakfast was delicious! The place is in need of some TLC & refurbishment is clearly ongoing but my room was...

“Its a grand old hotel. It has everything you would need. One of the highlights was having a bedroom with a balcony that looked out over Morecambe bay. Beautiful. If you like somewhere with a bit of character, and a peacock !, this is the place for you ! Thanks Liz”
