This is a beautiful, peaceful spot away from the tourist bustle of the coast. The hotel has excellent facilities and the staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. Situated just outside Teide National Park, it is an ideal base for exploring.

We really enjoyed our stay in Alta Montana, there was certainly a cabin/cozy feel to it. The hotel also includes a hot tub that kind of worked but a sauna that definitely worked. The views were great and the room was large and cozy, with a comfortable bed. The water pressure in the shower was ok, but that would be only real issue albeit a very very very minor one. The staff was extremely friendly which added to the stay.

Vilaflor is a charming village and a great base for visiting Teide National Park. Alta Montana is an equally charming hotel with easy parking, has clean and spacious rooms, and friendly staff.

The staff are excellent and were always ready to help. The room was lovely and quiet looking out over the village. We got back from a days walking to sit on the terrace overlooking the valley with a beer, pure heaven. Breakfast was good and parking was never an issue onsite. It’s a steep walk down into the village but the hotel location gives it superb views.

The hotel was excellent in every respect. The whole hotel smelt clean. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. Excellent coffee. Wonderful cakes and bread. Choice of quality cereals, especially the granola. Our room had a magnificent view from the long curved balcony. The heating was on on arrival. I cannot fault the hotel.

Chilled escape

Really relaxed and quiet location within pine trees, fantastic views, comfortable rooms with good facilities. The restaurant was mikes better than expected and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Well worth the drive. Will probably return.

Fantastic hotel but broken sleep

Firstly the hotel is in a stunning setting with access to hot tubs, sauna and loungers on the staggered terraced looking over the village and out to sea. Very clean and tidy surroundings with daily housekeeping and friendly staff. The entire place is beautiful. Sadly the hotel restaurant is only open on Sunday and Monday night but breakfast offers a nice selection daily. There's plenty on offer in Vilaflor for food and drink as well as a couple of local supermarkets and a fuel station. The main towns in the south are only about a 30 minute drive away with some stunning roads. We stayed in room 1 with a sea view. The room was a decent size for what we needed but the main air conditioning unit was on the outside wall and made loud buzzing noises every few minutes day and night. We had lots of broken sleep because of this so I'd avoid room 1 if possible. Other than that, it's a great hotel in a nice, quiet and cooler location than the rest of the island.

Stayed at Hotel Alta Montaña and it delivered exactly what you want from a mountain base. Clean, quiet, and well run. The staff are genuinely welcoming, not just polite, which makes a difference when you’re staying a few days. The views are outstanding, especially sitting above the cloud layer at around 1,400 meters. From a cycling standpoint, the location is hard to beat. You’re essentially on the climb the moment you roll out. You can head straight toward Teide or descend as far as you like and build your own climb back up. It gives you total control over your ride profile without dealing with traffic or logistics. Evenings were a standout. The chef is first-rate and the food was consistently excellent, which matters more than people think when you’re training and recovering day after day. Simple, peaceful, and perfectly positioned. I’ll be back next year.

I wish they put as much effort in the rooms as they put into the outside areas of the hotel. I am genuinely confused how this hotel has received this high appraisal when my experience was quite disappointing All windows and the door of the rooms with ‘ocean-view’ are on the same side where other guests also walk past, thus if you want any privacy when staying in your room you have to close all the curtains, staying in a dark hole. The bed is decent but has weird night side tables that block access to the outlet to charge your phone at night. The is a small table opposite of the bed but they decided to place the tv on this making it basically useless for anything. There is a small fridge underneath but the top plastic layer has bubbled up making me not trust the cooling. The real disappointment is the bathroom. It smells of mould and has not been cleaned properly in, at least, months. There is a very clear and thick layer of limescale on anything you touch, including the shower-head. Resulting in half of the streams hitting the wall instead of your body. The shower floor and glass doors are so covered the glass is no longer see through and the floor has changed to a different color of green. Making me want to spend a little time as possible in the bathroom. To add to this I also discovered a dead cockroach besides my bed the last morning. I know this is not necessary indicative of bad cleaning however it made me even more relieved that my time at this hotel was done.
