We learned from her the Villa was originally constructed in 16 th century hunting lodge of the DeMedici family. We were given a complimentary wine tasting and tour of the Villa’s production facility. The local town of Vinci was hosting a 400 year anniversary of Leonardo de Vinci and tours of the museum. The townsfolk dressed in Renaissance period attire and had many street vendors with art related...

"We needed a place to stay in or near Vinci for the night before our 3 week stay in a nearby villa began. Il Piastrino looked lovely and was VERY well priced. And it was exceptionally nice—from the spacious, charming rooms (surprise—we had a kitchen), the delicious breakfast, to the warm and welcoming staff. We arrived very late toward the end of a busy pris fixe am fresco dinner service but we were settled in and set at ease. And yes, we returned a few days later for the al fresco dining. Wow....
