"Downtown Roanoke is very loud. There were a lot of cars revving their engines Friday and Saturday night, straight out of the Fast and Furious. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone that wants a good nights sleep on the weekend. The hotel was fine. We were in the accessibility room, and it was ok, but the box spring of the bed was broken and there was only one trash can. I did tell them about the box spring when we checked out. Hopefully it gets fixed before the next customer."

"I came to stay at the Promissory as a half-way point between Philadelphia and Asheville, where I was headed for the weekend, and I was not disappointed! So incredibly charming, thoughtful, and inviting. I was offered a complimentary upgrade to my room to their gorgeous and spacious Artist's Suite and enjoyed a glass of champagne upon arrival. The staff were all friendly, informative, and professional. I wish I was able to stay longer but promise that if I ever find my way to Roanoke (an adorable town!) I will be staying again, and will certainly tell everyone I know to reserve a room at the Promissory Hotel. "

"Check in quick and easy, room was clean and looked reasonably new. Coffee pot in room was missing a part so not working. Breakfast was adequate but overcooked. Overall the stay was acceptable. "

"The floor in the room needed swept behind the door. The hallway smelled of Marijuana nonstop and idk about the bathtub. Also ourside the sliding doors of the room needed cleaned"

"My room had ants crawling all over the furniture. The got into my bags and luggage. The front desk was indifferent about the problem and offered nothing. The thermostat did not work properly leaving the room too warm."
