“Comfortable and spacious room.”

“Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. “Idea for a single person exploring the south-western Lake District.”

“We could not fault this small hotel - top marks!”

“Loved the place even stayed an extra night. Will definitely be back. Food is amazing.”

I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“The greeting we got on arrival was extremely good, lovely lady who runs The Troutbeck Inn. Great evening meal also, definitely stay again. Thank you .”

“All the staff we met were great, cheerfull helpfull and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and what one expects in a very old building. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons the shower only worked on the large head and the food choices were very limited both in the restaurant and at breakfast. No salads and limited vegetables in restaurant. No fruit or cereal at breakfast. The hotel is remote which is part of it's appeal for us so going out in the evening is not an option,I would have struggled...

“A lovely modern and spacious room with a little kitchenette and nice touches. Restaurant food was delicious. Great value and for great accommodation. Safe secure parking.”
