Lovely room with great views. Could do with a little updating but overall very clean and spacious and comfortable bed. Slept well. Staff couldn’t do too much for us and very friendly
Basic dated hotel, was very hot in the room, windows don’t open, only doors. Will not be going back.

Lovely spacious room with fantastic sea viewn more than expected for the price. Decor in some of the hotel a little dated but you can see that they have made efforts in rooms and main areas to update things whist retaining character.

The room was very tired and very outdated. Needs a complete overhaul. Bath was broken and sticky plastic used to repair. Paint coming off walls. Furtiture from the 70s carpet worn. Terrible view of broken air conditioneing units. Paid over £200 for a room that should be £20per nite. Nothing like the website pictures. Not for youngish 40s people.

Water pressure very low. No fan or air con so room was very warm. Account opening procedure for billing to room not explained so had to pay cash for drinks in dining room.
I have stayed here before and had a great experience but this time was like it was a different hotel. The room decor needs attention in room 424 more so in the bathroom. The shower was a waste of time as did not have enough pressure therefore dribbled out. Wanted a small breakfast so opted for scrambled egg. I have never seen egg so beige. I'm unsure if it was real egg?
Did I get asked 'I hope you enjoyed your stay and see you again soon' No not at all as I would have mentioned this and asked for a full £119.00 refund! Lucky them
The staff were very very helpful and the room was excellent wonderful view of the sea we had a very good time meeting up with my brother and sister in law who were down from Tyne and Wear
Asked for room overlooking sea - got that, thank you - but room was so hot had to open windows and noise from busy road, right outside, made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was self-service and coffee was cold. However, the dining room was unbearably hot as were the plates! No room service for drinks and when checking in, weren't told had to 'activate' card to be able to get charges put onto room. Minor gripes but all added up to an 'ok' stay.
We stayed in room 114 which is a lovely big room with fantastic sea views. The room was spotless and the queen-size bed was very comfortable. Shower temperature was tepid and had we been staying there longer than one night we would have told Reception. We found the Reception staff very friendly and helpful both before and during our stay. Overall a good experience, reasonably priced and we would stay there again.
My only niggle is that the mattress was somewhat knackered but I was only there for one night and slept quite well is spite of this. It does need replacing though and quickly.
The staff friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room large and clean. Breakfast had loads of choich both hot and cold. You carnt fault it's situation on the sea frount. Weve stayed in Weymouth many times and this was the best so far. We're be back soon
We were given a West facing room with an ancient window that would open no more than 10 inches. With there being no air conditioning the room temp was ovenlike by late afternoon. We enquired at the desk about a fan to give us some relief. The desk was more than aware of the problem, likely having heard this from every guest who ever stayed there. They said they would check if there might be an “extra”fan somewhere. While it was cool outside we roasted inside all night. When we spoke to the desk the next morning and were told they still could not find a fan we suggested that they might send someone out to purchase one. They lied and said “there are none to be found”. I admittedly put up a stink, and lo and behold when we returned to the hotel later in the day there was a brand new fan in our room. Knowing that the room was uninhabitable that fan should have been standard operating procedure.
I just spent one night there, but I liked waking up to the sea. I slept with the window open and, since there was barely any traffic, I only heard sea sounds. I loved it.
The Royal Hotel is in a first class location on the seafront and within easy walking distance of the shopping area. The reception and ground floor facilities have recently been updated as was the seaview room we were allocated, very spacious and modern. All the staff were very helpful
Really nice hotel with a perfect location, Everything you need in one spot. Breakfast was superb with excellent service. Room was spotless and very well presented. Would have no trouble recommending this hotel. Oh and the view from our room was outstanding.
