“Sumptuous beds a mile high with pillow soft toppers and silken sheets. Staff lovely, restaurant nice. Had rear room so no sea view but still nice open field to caravan site and balcony a 6pm sun trap, perfect for a pre dinner read. The extras the hotel offer make it fabulous; a room to store paddle board, lending you wetsuits, beach and picnic stuff etc. Car park busy (July) but nice chaps managing to help everyone. South Sands in front of you, rather challenging hill to next door North Sands...

“Our stay was okay, but I’d say expensive for what it was. It has a relatively dated interior, with no air con (biggest issue) - as even in 22-25 degrees, the room was like a sauna. Also, you pay £20 per night for a dog, and don’t even get a food bowl or dog bed. All that was provided for our dog was a water bowl. Not sure what we’re paying £20 per night for.”

“We booked this hotel very last minute and it was one of the few left available in the area. The staff were lovely although the manager was less so helpful and rather lazy! Rooms were clean but very tired and need a complete update including the plumbing where water drains so slowly from the sink and the toilet flush almost impossible to do! They no longer do any sort of food which is a shame as the website shows a dining area and people enjoying the menu. The atmosphere was zero in the evening...

“Hope Cove is a lovely place to stay. Food at the Hope and Anchor was five star. Staff were friendly. We did feel however that certain parts needed more attention. There was thick dust under the dresser in restaurant area. There is a paying car park next door which was £12 for 24 hours.”

“I have been staying in Dartmouth working for the past 8 months and wish I found this place sooner. It is a lovely room with views and the couple are lovely and very welcoming. This place is better than all the hotels that I have stayed in. Would 100% recommend and happily stay in again.”

“I called just to confirm that we would be able to go to the office to collect the keys on Sunday and that the office would definitely be open , even had an email confirming this but this was not the case - luckily for us someone in the office was able to call us to confirm the process that we had to take to collect the keys , just as well that we had a signal where we were on the time of the call !! “Staff & breakfast excellent. Room was very clean but it was very hot and the drains smelt at times. This severely impacted my sleep. My rating is purely based on that, suspect if i went when it was cooler it would be different. One easy thing to help would be for the windows to be opened fully.”

“Lovely location and a great place to stay. Made all the more easier by having a parking permit available for us to use. Flat was well equipped and lovely and clean. Had a little trouble disposing of the rubbish as they requested as we couldn’t access the rubbish location, and the instructions for the check out were a bit confusing. I would definitely early recommend this flat though.”

“The property was in a great location for the town centre. The road is very narrow so be mindful of what size car you have, but we were fine. Only enough parking for one car, so had to park in the park and ride for the other car, but that was easy enough. House is fully equipped, very clean and comfortable and would definitely recommend.”

“The room was clean, shower very powerful, needs a non slip tray, which I have suggested to the team. Bar very well stocked, although the day I arrived they had run out of sherry. I only dined on the first day, very good, pub style food, if a trifle expensive as compared to say the Exeter Inn in Modbury. Breakfast was good, service fine, staff friendly and efficient. ”
