Our room had a large balcony that looked directly out onto the mountains — waking up to that view every morning was nothing short of magical. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we appreciated the little touches like a kettle with tea and coffee, local artwork on the walls, and warm lighting. One of the best features of the hotel is its silence. Even when fully booked, it remains calm and quiet, making it ideal for relaxation, meditation, or just enjoying a good book. The on-site restaurant serves fresh and flavorful meals, often using local ingredients, and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. Large modern room with comfortable bed and separate bathtub & shower. Quiet location. Staff do not speak English, which is typical even for Western branded hotels in China. My room smelled a bit like sulfur, strongest near the toilet, but common areas did not. Air conditioner did not work. When reported to front desk, the complaint was met with a shrug. A bit of a walk from the historic area, but a gated walkway serves as a shortcut.
