Friendly and helpful staff. Parking was pretty rubbish though, the car park only has a dozen or so spaces and getting a spot is pot luck, also a bit pricey at £25. The building itself is very big and beautifully decorated / furnished. Had a very nice stay. Although strange that check in is from 4pm, we have been to dozens of hotels and 3pm is generally check in time.

Cant knock the staff i actually feel so sorry for them how they must deal with abuse daily when its not there fault. Double tree by the hilton needs to put money into the place, as there was no heating working in the rooms rubish and beer bottles left outside our door on arivel even tho room was ready for us. Stains all over carpet. Plug in heater to compensate for no heating which when gets hot turns off so at end of nov wen it was -2 didnt help whatsoever. Shame really as staff were lovely. All got resoveled in the end and got dealt with brilliantly by expedia would i stay again? Yes if they put money in to the hotel as its not worth what we paid but location is amazing

Room was very nice, however the pillows could be better. Too soft with no support. Wi-fi in the room was not very good. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of it and good choices. Great location of the hotel for the city centre.( this is the correct spelling of centre. It's not center.We are not American). Enjoyed our stay

First the good bits - decent location immediately outside city walls at Monkgate and decent breakfast. The bad bits: VERY LIMITED PARKING, which is not mentioned in the hotel description with only about 15 spaces including 4 electric and 3 disabled bays. During my 3 night stay, the car park was full with only 1 car actually using a charger, and 1 registered disabled badge holder, the rest were regular cars. The alternative is a public car park 300 metres away at £25 per day. I stayed in a ‘motel’ room - my room door opened directly onto the car park, where at 7am the foodservice and laundry trucks arrive right outside my door. Room was only partly made up on the last night - and the drains in the bathroom stank.

Comfy room however room next door to lift , not suitable for use as lift noise is too loud and wakes with each use. Light needed to use tea tray safely no light near t.v. where only option to place tray or kettle . switched rooms had a good nights sleep.
