On arrival the check-in was straight forward no problem there, then we went to our room which was a lovely surprise room 61 was almost a small terraced bungalow including gardens we loved it,the hotel had a beautiful dining area and breakfast was continental or cooked to order again a brilliant choice on the menu and finally the staff reception brilliant,the waiting on staff brilliant,bar staff brilliant all in all brilliant

Had a good 2 night stay at The Pavilion. Lovely character manor house kind of property. All staff (even though quite young) were friendly and efficient. Good location as could hop on a bus into the city. Parking (payable) at the hotel or park on street free if any spare spaces. Rooms were ok/fine, had to move from 1st one as towel rail and also toilet roll holder were both hanging off the walls. They upgraded us for free to king room. This was a good size although carpet showing slight signs of wear. Bathrooms were small but adequate, although a bit of a musty smell. Breakfast was fab 🔟, plenty of choices Inc fruit, cereal, pastries and also cooked as well. All in all a good stay, easy to explore York and good pub The Plough down the road Would recommend.

Tried this hotel for the first time. This charming and comfortable hotel, sensitively evolved from a historic town house into a modern hotel with period atmosphere. Was well worth the visit. The hotel has accessible rooms which complied with our specific requirements. Well designed rooms with regulation fixtures and fittings but with an old world feel. The accessible rooms front onto a small attractive courtyard. Staff are excellent. Food is excellent although only breakfasts are served at this time. This hotel does not feature the 'sterility' of front line hotels. Amp full parking is available including about 8 spaces for electric cars where owners can joyfully watch their vehicles depreciate at £1 per minute. There is a charge for overnight parking but blue badge holders are free.

A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, offering cosy, comfortable rooms that make for a relaxing stay. There are several pubs nearby, and it’s easy to reach York city centre by bus, or by a scenic 40-minute walk. A great balance of peace and convenience — I’ll definitely be returning.

Clean comfortable rooms traditional Victorian style characters. We were upgraded to the apartments across the road in a Victorian style property which was really spacious. The staff are lovely and helpful and the hotel was so Christmassy! This is my second stay and I will be staying again on my next trip to York.

On the good side, for what we paid, I don't think it can be denied that this hotel offers value for money. And the staff are very pleasant. But the hotel is tired and this shows in several areas. The cooked breakfast here used to be fantastic, but now the quality of the sausage is poor and you only get half a piece of black pudding which seems a little miserly. I see lots of comments about the car park, we knew in advance, so no shock but £15.00 a night is pretty unreasonable for Fulford, it isn't right to compare to City Centre Hotels and apply a similar rate here. Whilst the rooms are tired, they are clean. Some of the carpets are a bit threadbare and the 5 steps between rooms 55 and 56 are downright dangerous and in urgent need of structural attention. Having used this hotel as a family over many decades, one expects some fluctuations in the standard over time but I suspect many would prefer to pay a little bit more and see the hotel receive some much needed investment. Without improvements, we will probably start booking elsewhere in future.

Very enjoyable stay at York Pavillion hotel , the place has bags of charm and appeal. We had the 4 poster bed room which was spacious and clean Bed very comfortable Decor could do with an update , barely any sockets available with none at the bedside but we managed Breakfast was fine, only one hot drinks machine for tea and coffee which at busy times causes long wait continental breakfast ,small croissants only but nothing else available in pastries . Fruit was nice and all very tasty , hot breakfast was ok , All in all a very nice stay , we enjoyed our time in York.

Staff helpful and friendly. Deluxe room, not a chance. Very tired and more than old fashioned. Putting a sign in the reception saying the hotel is ‘old fashioned’ is not a reason or an excuse. Furniture being moved noisily after 12 midnight in the courtyard under the bedrooms unacceptable.
