The location of the hotel is perfect! The room itself is very nice. However, there was never any staff at the front desk. We were emailed a manual on how to use the washing machine, but our machine was different than in the manual, and it was difficult to figure it out. Also, the water in the shower was hard to figure out. There were no instructions on that, and once we figured out how it worked, we never figured out how to get warm water, so we had to shower with cool water the whole time we were there.

"If you want to take a step off the beaten track in Japan this is a very good option. The hotel is situated in a very good place to explore the Kyoto on Sea area (this is not Kyoto city). "The hotel is located in Miyazu, a short bus ride from Amanohashidate so technically, it's not in Amanohashidate. A very nice Western hotel, roomy by Japanese standards! The property is well maintained, like new."
