We booked Sandos Playacar because it partners with Sandos Caracol which you could visit for the day. Caracol has cenotes and is more of a jungle theme. When we arrived we found that a visit to Caracol now required payment. This was not a good surprise. There also wasn’t room service unless you were a “Royale Elite” member. However , even with these inconveniences, we still had a great time. We heard the food was sub par, but we found great food at each of the restaurants we went to. Even the buffet was amazing. The taco shop was open in the afternoon well into the evening and we were regulars there. It was only the French restaurant appetizers that didn’t meet our palate. We stayed by the family pool. It was about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but it was through a jungle area and it was very pleasant. This pool was nice. Our 10 month old loved it. There is a shuttle that runs which we caught a couple of times, but there always seemed to be a line. There was another pool near the beach for families, but only if you were “Royal Elite”. there were adult pools scattered throughout . The beach was amazing. Wide and clean with beach volleyball and soccer. We went when rain was forecast every day. There were a couple of hard rains and the waves on the beach were a little big, but still easily enjoyed by a 10 month old. There were plenty of activities for all ages. Some bikes had car seats on the back. We tried the padel court and even met some people to play with.

Super clean. They were always cleaning. Room service was decent. Staff very friendly.

The staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. Definitely a kid friendly resort. We had a swim up master suite. Would recommend.
