It's a quiet hotel, part of a larger residential building, and formerly a Shangri-La. Room was spacious and super clean and perhaps just a tiny bit dated. Location is great, right in the heart of downtown Vancouver and walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and the water.

Located at the BC Place, which is such a unique area. Great views, & nice to walk around the hotel, & the whole part of town around BC Place. Very nice breakfast was included too. However, parking charges are almost part of the room charge, very expensive.

Our stay at JW Marriott was exceptional from start to finish. We spent several days celebrating a special birthday, and every moment exceeded our expectations. The hotel is stunning, with beautiful views, elegant facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere. Every staff member we encountered was professional, kind, and genuinely helpful. Their attention to detail made our celebration even more memorable. The dining experience was outstanding. Honey Salt served delicious food, with every dish perfectly prepared. We also visited The Victor late at night, and despite the hour, the manager went above and beyond to accommodate us. The service was impeccable, and we felt truly valued. The spa was relaxing and luxurious, the gym clean and well-equipped, and the jacuzzi the perfect place to unwind. We also appreciated the valet team, who were efficient, courteous, and always ready to help. What impressed us most was the hospitality throughout the property. Everyone made us feel special, and the service consistently surpassed expectations. Thank you to the entire JW Marriott team for making this birthday celebration unforgettable. The Douglas was an unexpected gem. We chose it for the location, but the staff and the quality of the furnishings and amenities was fantastic.
