Sand Island Beach Vacations

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. That staff was 20/10 showing tons of hospitality, kindness and were informative about the local spots and eateries around the area. I personally want to thank Vince and Janice for how well they organized everything for me and my stay here. Enhanced my overall experience of hawaii

The staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was fun. It was convenient to have a hotel on the beach. Beach will close when sea lions swim up to the beach area. Hotel is close to restaurants and shops. I would stay here again with my family.

The staff was very polite and friendly, and the rooms were clean with a beautiful ocean view. The only issue I would like to mention is that two out of the four elevators were not working. Because of this, there were often long waits and crowded elevators, especially when trying to get to the parking garage or to different floors. I really liked the valet parking service. The staff was very efficient and always brought the car quickly whenever we needed it. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Stayed 6 nights at the Royal Hawaiian. I am hard pressed to say this is a luxury resort. First the positives: -great location, right on the beach -we had a beachfront room, with awesome views -staff is very nice and mostly helpful (more on that later) -GREAT Mai Tai bar. Arguably the best beach bar in Waikiki – and great bartending staff -Great malasadas at the lobby snack bar Now the negatives -Pool is small, and during the day was quite full; there is a second pool, shared with the Sheraton next door, and only accessible from the outside; also very crowded and no lounge chairs available if you don’t get there early -The hotel is dated -Right now they are going through renovations (much needed) but no where could I find this mentioned – a lot of noise during the weekday -AC was barely working in our room – asked for it to be fixed, but still not working. Asked to be moved and they said they had nothing for us. Finally, Michael, the customer Service Manager stepped in, after three nights, got us into a new room with working AC. -There is a very customer unfriendly beach chair reservation process. Could not find anywhere on the web site or otherwise for instructions. Mostly had to wait ½ hour or more to reserve only to find out on the last day that reservations could be made online 48 hours in advance – but no one told us about this! -Sparsely furnished room, and what furniture that was there seemed about as old as the hotel Overall this hotel has seen better days
