Cleanliness was great all over the hotel. Staff very kind and helpful.

The staff was wonderful the property and food was top notch and the views are amazing. We really enjoyed our time but on our last day we had planned with a friend to pick us up from the resort and bring us to the airport I called and informed the front desk the night before and gave my friends information. Car model, name and plate . They said it was perfectly fine, we then checked out the next morning. Our friend arrived and the resort and staff at the gate proceeded to harass him and stopped him claiming to be an uber driver I walked over to the staff to inform them to check with the front desk and this is my friend . Around 5 resort staff at the gate circled his car and kind of intimidated him and kept claiming he’s an Uber. This lasted for 20-25 minutes in blistering heat with our luggage standing around with a flight to catch .. I can’t say anything bad about the resort but this last interaction left a really bad impression as they claimed we are liars. All this because they want you to use the taxi drivers they work with ( I don’t use taxi in Mexico because it’s a complete rip off) they eventually let us leave after arguing and circling the car and holding us at the gate. The resort staff was wonderful the whole trip and very kind .

The resort is beautiful and I enjoyed the food options. Only complaint was the elevator in our building wouldn’t always be working.

The spa was amazing! We wished all restaurants were available for all meals.

Our Villa was not on the beach but it was spectacular. With a private pool and jacuzzi. It was family-friendly. Many activities for the kids. Bicycles were given to each family member. The beach area is amazing. It has a great restaurant and a nice pool. The restaurants at the hotel and at the other Mayakoba hotels are very good. The best part is the staff. They accommodate and coordinate everything you want. Our personal concierge Madai was GREAT!

A mixed review. Some of the staff are exceptional and go above and beyond - they work extremely hard in a busy/challenging environment. Beautiful setting also. However, we were overrun by those attending an event at the conference centre and our experience was negatively impacted as a result - bar areas closed off. Reduced staff. No wait list system operated for diving/activities so my husband very nearly missed out because of a last minute late booking despite the fact that he had been in contact with the hotel 3 months prior and as soon as he arrived - had he not argued about it he wouldn’t have got to go diving. The food at the beach restaurant was terrible. Others in our group paid extra for a lagoon view and didn’t get one (due to the big booking). Prior guests leftover dinner (mouldy) left in room fridge. Mini bar not provided until asked (even though we were all inclusive). Surprise extra charges at the spa. No details of what is/isnt included in all inclusive provided as check-in. Overall it has the potential to be incredible but they need more staff, particularly when hosting conferences so as to not make paying holiday guests feel like second rate citizens. It’s was not a cheap holiday - I expected more.
