Shasta Cascade Pet-friendly Vacations

The line to check in was incredibly long. My kids and I waited about 35 minutes just to get checked in. After finally receiving our room and going upstairs, we discovered that the hot water was not working, the toilet would not flush, and the phone in the room was also not working. I then had to go back downstairs and wait in the long line all over again just to get the room changed. What was most disappointing was that there was no effort made to compensate for the inconvenience or make the situation better for my family. Instead of offering an upgrade or any type of accommodation, we were simply moved to another similar room. I understand that issues can happen, but I expected more effort to help make things right, especially considering the inconvenience and the fact that I was there with my children.

Comfortable beds- Clean room and tub was awesome after a chilly day outside.

The Langham Huntington is a beautifully maintained and well-situated hotel in a gorgeous setting. The grounds are beautiful and walks outside the gates in San Marino or South Pasadena are on broad tree-lined streets of estate homes. The staff is exceptionally helpful and go out of their way to be sure that you are satisfied with your room or any amenity. It is not inexpensive, but worth it for a vacation or long weekend when you want a nice getaway.

We booked a Casita room for a 3 day weekend for our last trip before we have our first baby. I didn’t put any notes or anything on what we were there for, but when we checked in we were informed we had been upgraded to an oceanfront suite. We were blown away by this room. It was massive and had multiple balconies to sit on and enjoy the views. We ended up spending most of our time in the room because it was just the best. We did go to the adult pool and another quiet pool that were both very nice. Megan at the vista pool was great! We had breakfast at the Catalina kitchen a few times which was great. The room service was great. I do wish I had done a little more research and made reservations for the other restaurants on site as they were booked. Overall it was an amazing place and we were so thankful they upgraded us, we didn’t want to leave!

The staff was wonderful...everyone. The property is beautiful but would recommend a refresh with bathroom lighting.

Short stay at Short Stories (2 nights). Great location across from the Farmers Market and the Grove. Nearby buses gave easy access to the museums and the tourist run near the Chinese Theatre. Hotel courtyard is very charming and atmospheric.
