I rarely leave negative reviews, but after spending nearly $5,000 for a six-night stay, I feel it’s important to share our experience. We actually ended up checking out early and booking another hotel because the service and cleanliness were so disappointing. One of the biggest issues was room service. I placed an order totaling around $150 and waited three hours before finally calling to ask what was going on. Only then was I told that because of Lollapalooza, they were no longer taking room service orders—even though my order had already been accepted and paid for. No one ever contacted us to let us know there was an issue. Housekeeping was even worse. By day four, our room had still not been cleaned or serviced once. We requested fresh towels that evening, and after waiting an hour with no response, I had to call again. They finally brought towels around 1:00 a.m. Earlier that same day, I actually had to walk across the hall to the housekeeping room and ask for clean sheets myself because no one had serviced our room. The housekeeper seemed visibly irritated that I even asked while she was sitting on her phone scrolling. She simply handed me the sheets, and my friend and I had to strip and make our own beds. Since our room was directly across from the housekeeping room, I saw staff sitting in there on their phones throughout our stay while guest rooms went untouched. Great place to stay not a fan of the 30 dollar charge daily for amenities that you don’t really get to choose if you use or not when you’re just there for work but otherwise good property

Beautiful historic property.

This is the cleanest, friendliest, most professional hotel in this part of Chicago. I came here after finding signs of bedbugs and a lot of dirt at another hotel and decided I could not stay there - this was my vacation and it was off to a poor start. Thank goodness for Hyatt. Seriously, why in the world I ever thought going anywhere but this hotel was a good idea is beyond me. I stayed here in the past and this hotel was wonderful then and it was wonderful now. Hyatt saved my vacation.

Stayed solo for 3 nights Juneteenth weekend. I arrived early and was able to check in to a double room with a better view. There is a restaurant downstairs which I didn’t get to try. Gym was nice. Room was spotless. The area is a little sketchy at night. Location is central to everything. I would definitely stay here again.
