Later, Hugo explained that the no-sandals rule only applied to gentlemen. During our subsequent discussion with management, Glacia told us that leather sandals for gentlemen were acceptable. None of these explanations matched the published dress code, which simply states that sandals are not permitted. This inconsistency was the source of our confusion from the very beginning.
